Celebrity Chefs Don’t Always Tell the Truth

I was just reading an article on Smart Money titled “10 Things Celebrity Chefs Won’t Tell You”. Here are a few of the topics:

“There’s absolutely no reason to buy my cookbook.”

This section goes on to discuss how you can find many recipes for free on some websites, inculding The Food Networks extensive database.

“Just because I have a cooking show doesn’t mean I’m a chef.”

Rachael Ray will admit she has never run a kitchen, but there are a dozen more that will omit this tiny fact.

“Sex sells, even with foodies.”

One word: Padma.

“The dishes I make on TV don’t always work so great at home . . .”

Some dishes tend to look good from afar, but far from good.

“My show is one long commercial for my cookbooks.”

Well, that is obvious. With all the crossovers and product tie-ins, it is hard not to seem like they are always trying to sell you something.
