Christina, the new chef at GM Coastal Grill answered a few questions for us. Here are her responses:
Where did you get your culinary training?
I recieved my training from The Art Institute of NY.
Where did you work before the GM Coastal?
I have worked at The Inn when I was younger, as well as Middle Bay Country Club, and most recently George Martin the Original.
If you could cook with only 10 ingredients, what would they be, and what would you make with them?
Filet Mignon, Tuna, garlic, butter, wine, potatoes, spinach, basil, lemon,onions. The possibilities are endless!
What is your number one go to restaurant in Long Beach? On Long Island? In NYC (or 5 boros)?
I don’t get out as much as I should with a new baby and these crazy hours.
What 5 things are always in your refrigerator or freezer? (not including eggs, milk etc)
Cold cuts, mayo, porkchops, cheese, and wine for when mommy needs a break!!!
Whats the best meal you have ever eaten?
Filet Mignon “Oscar” Yum Yum with cabernet reduction asparagus and bearnaise.
Diners have no shortage of choices where to spend their money. How do you draw them in?
I really try with all my heart to give people the best product for the money, along with new and exciting specials to try, and keeping the menu fresh.. My goal is to bring in new customers with help from the current loyal ones. Word of mouth is everything.
